Alterations Workshop

A Two Night Workshop

Tuesday,  November 28th and December 5th, 6:30 to 8:30 PM

A lot of students tell me that they want to start sewing because they want to know how to alter and customize their own clothing to make it fit and look the way they want. This can be quite a creative activity, not to mention how much it enhances the life of what is already in your closet!

For many years, I worked as a professional sewing alterations tailor, and I'm going to share what I learned with you so you can alter your clothing yourself.

In this class, I will demonstrate common alterations- like how to slim or let out your clothing, how to hem your pants, how to blind hem dresses, pants, and skirts, and how to take in a shirt, and how to change the length of a shirt. All of these alterations send you to the tailor shop, and even though they are quick and easy, they can add up in cost. Why not save yourself the trouble and learn how to do these easy alterations yourself, quickly and in your own home? You can always save the hard stuff for the tailor.

You don't want to miss this class, you will learn how to:

  • alter size, design and fit of your clothes
  • fix clothing that you love
  • change the proportion into something that you will love to wear.

The added benefit of this class? We are going to do the alterations on your own clothing so start digging through your closet and find out what pieces need new life!

This, without a doubt, this workshop will save you time and money and show you a great use for your sewing skills.

Class size is very small and therefore limited. Secure your spot asap as this workshop is only offered twice a year.

Please note, this class is focused on sewn, existing, ready to wear clothing. It is not a sewing pattern alterations class.
