2 One On One Private Lessons

Each lesson is one hour

Please note: You can use the studio machine and tools for your lessons. I will also provide you with a pattern for your project. You will just need to bring 1.5 yards fabric for your bag. 

Do you have a sewing machine just sitting in the closet, maybe even still in the box, because you don’t know how to use it? These lessons are designed for the absolute beginner. You will learn how to operate and control your sewing machine, working through varieties of sewing techniques and common skill sets, as well as sew a bag designed to help you learn essential construction concepts for beginners.

I have taught beginners how to sew for almost 7 years now, and have walked many people through a proven process to learn how to sew. For every absolute beginner, I have a path I recommend with these steps to learn in your lessons: 
 
Lesson 1. Your first lesson will cover operating the machine and sewing, as well as basic seams. We will learn the basics of a pattern and cutting out a project, and begin to sew a basic bag to help you apply the seam techniques as well as develop hand eye coordination and muscle mechanics. 

Lesson 2. Your second lesson will focus on completing the bag and applying accurate stitching techniques. 

After your lessons: 

• You will know how to use your machine and sew basic projects.

• You will be able to tackle common mistakes and problems with your machine.

• You will be able to sew simple projects. From there if you love sewing and want to continue, you can move forward with the How to Make Clothing Lesson Pack, and learn more about sewing patterns and the construction of basic clothing.
