2 One on One Private Lessons

Each lesson is one hour

Please note: You can use the studio machine and tools for your lessons. You will just need to bring 1.5 yards fabric for your project. 

These lessons are an introduction to how to make your own clothing. We will cover how to use a pdf sewing pattern (they don’t have to be as complicated as they appear) and the basic construction techniques used to sew a garment. These steps include:

1. How to understand the information and read a sewing pattern.

2. How to use the pattern and make sure you cut it to your size.

3. Cutting out the pattern from the cloth using a rotary cutter.

4. How to sew clothing seams with a polished finish.

5. How to sew bias tape and curved hems.

In these lessons we will make a simple shirt. I will provide you with a pattern and a workbook that presents the same process you will learn in your lessons so you can practice again at home on your own. When you register, your pattern and workbook will be emailed to you.

At the end of these lessons, you will walk away knowing how to:

• Use and assemble a pdf pattern.

• Sew different kinds of seams while learning garment construction.

• Build your hand eye coordination with bias tape and curved hems.

• You will have something you made that you can wear.

• You will have practiced garment construction and sewing that will allow you to make more clothing and create other types of projects.
