Do you know how to use your machine, but need help with construction and improving the accuracy of your sewing? These lessons are designed to help you learn the necessary construction and intermediate techniques to improve your sewing and make items you can use.

In our first lesson, you will learn more about seams, finishing, machine functions, special stitches and their parts and how they help you. Some of the skills you will learn:

• How to Sew Rolled Hems

• Tricks for Accurate Topstitching

• Tricks for Stitch in the Ditch and its Applications

To name a few! You will definitely be surprised at how much your equipment is designed to help you overcome common sewing errors.

In the next lesson I will share with you some of the tips and tricks that I learned from accomplished seamstresses and professional tailors. We will work on zipper applications for All Purpose and Invisible Zippers, as well as how to sewing machine and serger together as a team to get a professional result.

Don’t worry, you can use my in studio sergers so you don’t have to have one. I’ll demonstrate more sewing finishes and details to help you refine your sewing, using the serger to aid in your accuracy to construct better seams, hems, and finishings shown on garments you buy in the store.

You’ll learn new kinds of stitches from the serger besides just basic finishing and other techniques by changing the tension, needles, and threading. 

By the end of these lessons, you will leave a better sewist. You will have a new and improved, more robust skill set to help you sew better clothing that looks refined instead of homemade.
